Vafa was born in Iran and raised in California. He joined NUFDI as a Summer Fellow in June 2023 and became a Program Associate in December 2024. He graduated from Chapman University with a BA in Political Science and received his Masters in Public Policy with a concentration in International Relations and National Security from Pepperdine University. 


As a Program Associate, Vafa provides support and conducts research across a variety of projects and areas of expertise.
