Nurses Go On Strike

Nurses across Iran have been on strike for over a week to protest harsh working conditions, low wages, and government neglect.
The strikes have spread beyond major hospitals in Shiraz to numerous cities across the country, as promises from last year’s nurse strike have still not been fulfilled.

Several electrical outages have been reported across Iran this week, with shopping centers, farms, and even full blocks in Tehran without power.

Although so-called reformist president Pezeshkian promised his cabinet picks would include young and fresh faces, to no one’s shock, he didn’t deliver. His “moderate” vice president even gave an interview saying Iranians are not mentally prepared for female leadership.
From his Ministry of Intelligence, who is a close ally of Ghalibaf, to his Minister of Education, who advocates for the enforcement of the mandatory hijab, Pezeshkian’s cabinet is filled with figures loyal to Khamenei and not interested in any sort of reform.
