Woman Arrested After Protest
On Sunday, a video emerged of a student at Islamic Azad University in Tehran removing her clothes on her university’s campus in protest after she was attacked for her attire and had her clothes ripped by morality police.
She was seen walking around campus, until eventually regime forces found her and forced her into an unmarked car. Her location and the state of her safety are unknown, however authorities are attempting to paint her as mentally ill, insinuating that they have taken her to a psychiatric ward, as they tend to do with dissidents.
IRGC Releases Video Threatening Trump Assassination
An IRGC-affiliated media telegram channel posted a video following the announcement of Donald Trump’s election, threatening to assassinate him.
Iranian-American Detained in Iran for Months
This week, the State Department announced that the regime has kept Iranian-American journalist Reza Valizadeh detained in Iran for months.
Reza had worked for Radio Farda, an outlet under Radio Free Europe, a US government-funded outlet. In early 2024, Reza had tweeted that his family members in Iran had been detained in an attempt to get him to return to Iran.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: “We are working with our Swiss partners who serve as the protecting power for the US in Iran to gather more information about this case.”
