Two Minutes in Tehran is a weekly series dedicated to briefing you on the latest news on Iran
Five Years Since Bloody November
This week marked five years since Bloody November, during which the Islamic Republic murdered over 1,500 protestors in a complete Internet blackout while Iranians were on the streets demanding freedom and democracy.
While Iranians mourn those 1500 brave protesters, the regime’s Minister of Health announced that within a week, 1,500 surgeries were conducted in Iran for members of Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, it was said this week that retirees in Iran who need medical assistance would not be able to receive their insurance coverage, due to government incompetence.
UN Passes Resolution Criticizing Islamic Republic Human Rights Violations
On Thursday, the United Nations General Assembly met on a resolution criticizing the Islamic Republic for its continuous violations of human rights, including its “intensified, targeted repression of women and girls.”
The resolution passed with 77 votes in favor. 28 nations voted against the resolution, and 66 abstained.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the regime’s foreign ministry condemned the resolution, claiming it is a “politically motivated and unjustifiable move.”
