Crowd Protects Women At Risk of Arrest Over Hijab
A video circulating on Twitter showed two women being harassed by regime forces for not covering their hair in accordance with Islamic Republic guidelines.
In the video, a large crowd gathers around the two women to protect them from police, until they are safely put into a relative's car and driven away.
Islamic Republic Executes Over 200 in First Half of 2024
A report finds that in the first half of 2024, the Islamic Republic has executed at least 266 political prisoners.
Among the 266 executed, 10 were executed on political and religious charges, 10 were women, and one was a child.
Khamenei's Representative Calls for More Crackdowns
One of Ali Khamenei's representatives has called for stricter laws on dog walking and women improperly covering their hair.
He said that it is necessary for the regime to crackdown harshly on "social corruption". This comes just weeks before a "reformist" president is set to take office, though he himself has a history of being restrictive with women's rights.
