Regime Spreads its Repression Internationally

  • On Friday, a group of Iranian dissidents gathered outside of a community center in London to celebrate Raisi’s death, while a memorial service was being held for him
  • Several regime loyalists violently attacked people involved in the celebrations, with police stating that multiple people had been injured and sent to the hospital, one even with a broken leg
  • One participant in celebrations said he was beaten and his cellphone was stolen, later being turned on inside the Islamic Republic’s embassy. Regime supporters and interest section officials in Maryland also made threatening gestures to those protesting outside a memorial service being held for Raisi in Potomac

 

Islamic Republic Leads in Global Executions

  • Amnesty International’s latest report finds that the Islamic Republic led globally in recorded executions in 2023
  • The report says that the Islamic Republic was responsible for 74% of all recorded executions worldwide
  • There are still numerous brave dissidents in Iran at risk of being executed

 

Artist in Iran Arrested for Online Joke

  •  Over the weekend, an Iranian artist known for posting satire online, was arrested for making a joke following the death of Raisi
  • The post resulting in his arrest very simply said: “I hope nothing bad has happened to the trees,” referring to the trees damaged by the crash of Raisi’s helicopter
