Iranian Blogger Arrested for Tweet

  • On Tuesday, regime forces arrested Hossein Shanbehzadeh, an Iranian blogger and writer, for his response to one of Khamenei’s tweets.
  • Hossein’s tweet simply contained a dot, and the tweet garnered more likes than Khamenei’s original tweet.
  •  In 2019, Hossein was jailed on charges of “insulting the sanctities and the leader of the Islamic Republic,” making it clear that in the Islamic Republic, even posting a single punctuation mark and it receiving more likes than the Supreme Leader’s tweet, is insulting to the nation and is grounds for arrest.
